Postdoctoral Research Position

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available at Dr. Nahman-Averbuch’s laboratory at the Washington University Pain Center. The laboratory is investigating nociceptive processing mechanisms across the lifespan. One line of research aims to predict and prevent chronic pain. Another line of research explores how sex, gender, and sex hormone levels affect pain sensitivity and chronic pain (such as migraine and fibromyalgia) during puberty, menopause, or after sex hormone therapy. The methods used in the laboratory include quantitative sensory testing, structural and functional neuroimaging, and hormonal testing.

We are seeking a self-motivated, creative, independent individual. The selected postdoctoral fellow will assist with developing study protocols, recruiting study participants, collecting and analyzing data and writing manuscripts.

Required Qualifications: PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sensory and behavioral assessments
  • Experience with neuroimaging analysis (FSL, SPM)

If interested, please send CV and research statement to Dr. Nahman-Averbuch at hadas@wustl.edu
